AMBROSE ENG

Coordinator, Story Development

Ambrose Eng is a filmmaker and storyteller whose journey began through an inherited passion for videography. A graduate in Performing Arts and Creativity, he is drawn to stories that challenge the mind and stir the heart—particularly in the genres of drama, psychological thriller, political fiction, fantasy, and sci-fi.

His creative works include Kumang (2023), a short film he co-wrote; and Wedding Stone (2024), a limited series he wrote and co-directed for TV Sarawak (TVS). In 2025, Ambrose directed Dreamweaver—a history-making musical in Borneo that celebrates cultural preservation through the traditional Sarawakian art of Songket weaving.

Ambrose has also been selected for multiple prestigious screenwriting labs and development programmes, both national and international in support of his debut feature screenplay, Never Worn. These include Program One Step Closer in Malaysia and the Nostos Screenwriting Retreats in Italy, where he made history becoming the first Sarawakian and Malaysian ever invited and among the first Southeast Asian writers to join the retreat’s global alumni network.

Currently, Ambrose serves as Story Development Coordinator at IAINWITHEYES Studios, where he continues to craft meaningful narratives with precision and purpose.
